- A failure is detected when the steering wheel is out of the physical specific range for more than 600 milliseconds

- A failure is detected when sensor values has changed more than 40 degree for more than 40 milliseconds

- In case of straight and stable driving over 30 km/h (18.6 MPH), a failure is detected if it is more than 25° to difference between previous SAS offset and mean of estimated SAS offset.
- A failure is detected when the fault signal of SAS Failsafe Logic is transmitted (SAS status), received SAS message's Alive counter fault, checksum value fault, or CRC fault
- Driving or Control: 100 milliseconds
- Standstill: 500 milliseconds
- MDPS Initialization while standstill: 1 second
