  1. Improper installation of wheel speed sensor
  2. Abnormal rotor and wheel bearing
  3. Faulty wheel speed sensor
  4. Faulty ESP (ESC)
Case 1 Threshold value
  • When continuous operation of ABS control to one (or more) wheel over 60 seconds is detected.
Diagnosis time
  • 60 seconds
MIL
  • EBD/ABS/ESP (ESC) warning lamps are activated EPB lamp is not activated
Reset condition
  • After ignition switch turned OFF and back ON, when all wheel speed is normal after driving more than 12 km/h (7.45 MPH).
Case 2 Threshold value
  • ESC: A failure is detected when there is a difference of wheel speeds due to air gap or tone wheel failure (missing teeth).
    1. FL/RL, FR/RR: 6 km/h~12 km/h (3.7 MPH~7.4 MPH)

      FL/FR: 10 km/h~16 km/h (6.2 MPH~9.9M PH)

      FL/FR: > 16 km/h (9.9 MPH)

Fault detection time: maximum 10 seconds

    3. Fault detection time is maximum 80 seconds when spin occurs on front wheel.
  • EPB: When two or more wheel speed sensor input signal failures are detected.
MIL
  • Only one wheel failure

: ABS/ESP (ESC) warning lamps are activated
