Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the engine room under cover, and then Drain the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  3. Remove the exhaust manifold.

    (Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "EXHAUST MANIFOLD ")

  4. Remove the EGR cooler pipe B (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When installing, replace with new gasket.
  5. Remove the EGR cooler (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When installing, replace with new gasket.
    • When installing the EGR cooler, tighten the bolts (or nuts) with pre-torque first, and then tighten the bolts (or nuts) with specified torque in the sequence shown.

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Fill the radiator with coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

    NOTE:
    • When changing the coolant and draining air, be sure to follow the filling instructions of the Integrated Thermal Management Module (ITM).
