DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Comparison of front and rear oxygen sensor values before and after the catalyst
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Exhaust system
  3. Faulty downstream HO2S
  4. Catalyst converter
  5. ECTS out of range
  6. Exhaust manifold
  7. High fuel pressure
  8. Incorrect connection
  9. Misfire
  10. Faulty injector
  11. Faulty EGR system
Enable Condition
  • ECTS is more than 73°C (163°F)
  • Modeled catalyst temperature between 1022 and 1526°F
  • Vehicle speed is more than 5 km/h (3 mph)
  • Engine speed between 1300 and 3200 RPM
  • MAFS between 0.3 and 0.9g/revolution
  • Ambient pressure is more than 70 kPa (700 hPa)
  • Canister load is less than 0.5
  • Lambda control active & stable driving condition
  • Downstream O2 sensor operative readiness
  • No opening/closing of canister purge valve
  • No relevant failure
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
Threshold Value
  • Average malfunction index is more than 1
Diagnostic Time
  • 50 lambda controller cycles
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
