Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • EGR flow check
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Blocked EGR cooler
  3. EGR circulation path clogging and leakage
  4. Intake manifold
  5. Exhaust manifold
Enable Condition
  • Fuel cutoff condition
  • EGR valve position study is completed
  • No relevant failure
  • IATS is more than -6.75°C (19.85°F)
  • ECTS is more than 54°C (129°F)
  • Engine speed between 1088 and 2016 RPM
  • Mean engine speed between ±192 RPM/s
  • Barometric pressure is more than 74 kPa
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
  • Intake manifold pressure is more than 100 hPa
  • TPS position ranges from 0° to 23.8 to 24.1° (depends on engine RPM and intake air temperature)
  • EGR recirculation flow is more than 5kg/h
Threshold Value
  • Difference between reference/measured pressure is more than 1.45
  • Intake manifold pressure is more than 41 to 112 kPa (EGR valve close)
Diagnostic Time
  • Fuel cut off duration 10s
MIL ON Condition
  • 1 driving cycle
