DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Determine if a multiple cylinder misfire or a cylinder specific misfire is occurring by monitoring crankshaft rotation speed
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Faulty spark plugs
  3. Faulty spark plug cables
  4. Air leakage
  5. Belt deflection and air gap of CKPS
  6. Incorrect timing
  7. Faulty injector
  8. Improper fuel pressure
  9. Improper engine compression
Enable Condition
  • Engine load ratio between 14 and 64%
  • Engine speed between 500 and 6700 RPM
  • MAFS gradient/s between 12 and 60%
  • Throttle gradient/s between 0.5 and 10.5%
  • ECTS is more than 68°F (20°C) if start temperature is less than 19.4°F (-7°C)
  • No relevant failure
  • Fuel cut-off not active
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
Threshold Value
  • Misfire detected on 2 or more cylinders
Diagnostic Time
  • Continuously
MIL ON Condition
  • Immediate (Misfire enough to damage the catalyst)
  • 2 driving cycles (Misfire breaking the emission regulation)
