DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Front oxygen sensor response (signal amplification) check
  1. Poor Connector Connection
  2. Air leak in intake or exhaust system
  3. Faulty upstream O2 sensor
Enable Condition
  • Coolant temperature is more than 73°C (163°F)
  • Modeled catalyst temperature between 550 and 830°C (1022 and 1526°F)
  • Vehicle speed is more than 3 mph
  • Engine speed between 1300 and 3200 RPM
  • MAFS signal between 0.3 and 0.9g/revolution
  • Ambient pressure is more than 70 kPa (700 hPa)
  • Canister load is less than 0.5
  • Lambda control active & stable driving condition
  • Downstream O2 sensor operative readiness
  • No opening/closing of canister purge valve
  • No relevant failure
  • Battery voltage between 11 and 16V
Threshold Value
  • Integral (Lambda signal amplitude measured/Lambda signal amplitude of a slow sensor) is higher than 1.0
Diagnostic Time
  • 25 lambda controller cycles
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
