Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Rationality check
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Faulty upstream O2 sensor signal circuit
  3. Faulty upstream O2 sensor
Enable Condition Case 1
  • 30s elapsed after upstream dew point end detected
  • Fuel feedback control active
  • Battery voltage is more than 11V
  • Exhaust gas temperature between 480 and 800°C (896 and 1472°F)
  • No injector error
  • No upstream O2 sensor heater error
  • Downstream O2 sensor voltage > 0.6V
Case 2
  • 30s elapsed after upstream dew point end detected
  • Fuel feedback control active
  • Battery voltage is more than 11V
  • Exhaust gas temperature between 480 and 800°C (896 and 1472°F)
  • No injector error
  • No upstream O2 sensor heater error
  • Downstream O2 sensor voltage is less than 0.1V
Case 3
  • 30s elapsed after upstream dew point end detected
  • Fuel feedback control active
  • Battery voltage is more than 11V
  • Exhaust gas temperature between 480 and 800°C (896 and 1472°F)
  • No injector error
  • No upstream O2 sensor heater error
Threshold Value Case 1
  • O2 sensor voltage between 0.06 and 0.4V
Case 2
  • O2 sensor voltage between 0.06 and 1.15V
Case 3
  • Frequency of heater pulse coupling to sensor signal is higher than 5 times per every 10 heating pulses
Diagnostic Time Case 1
  • 25 seconds
