WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Plausibility Check
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Faulty ECTS circuit
  3. Faulty ECTS
  4. Faulty PCM
Enable Condition
  • Engine off time is more than 5 hours at cooling temperature above 0°C (32°F)
  • Engine off time is more than 7 hours at coolant temperature above 90°C (194°F)
  • Block heater error not detected (block heater monitoring under the conditions below)
    • Difference between the current coolant temperature and the coolant temperature at start-up is below 2.25°C (36.05°F)
    • Coolant temperature below 50.25°C (122.45°F)
    • Less than 30 seconds after starting
Threshold Value
  • When the difference between the temperature sensor average (coolant temperature 2, intake temperature) and coolant temperature 1 at startup is over 20°C (68°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • 0.1 second (once per driving cycle)
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
