Trouble Shooting Prerequisite condition Possible Cause
Main action
  • Monitor the sensor signal
  1. Poor contact of connector
  2. Faulty oil temperature: sensor
  3. Faulty PCM
Prerequisite condition Low temperature (Case 1)
  • Battery voltage: 10V or more
  • Engine RPM: 900 or more
  • Shift lever switch: "D" or "Sports" (Forward gear)
  • Shift lever oil temperature: -10°C or more
  • Over 150 seconds or more
  • Secondary Pulley RPM: 300 or more
High temperature (Case 3)
  • Battery voltage: 10V or more
  • Engine RPM: 350 or more
  • Oil temperature at previous Ignition "OFF" is higher than 90°C
  • Engine coolant temperature at previous Ignition "OFF" is higher than 90°C
  • 34°C temperature difference or higher between temperature at ignition "ON" and temperature at previous ignition "OFF"
  • No CAN error
Threshold Value Low temperature (Case 1)
  • Oil temperature sensor: Less than 2°C
High temperature (Case 3)
  • Difference between temperature at ignition "ON" and temperature at previous ignition "OFF" is less than 2°C
Detecting Time
  • At initial diagnosis
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
