Removal And Installation
- Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
- Remove the rear wheel and tire (A).
Tightening torque:
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire.
- Loosen the screw and then remove the drum.
Tightening torque:
4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb-ft)
- Remove the upper shoe return spring (A), lower shoe return spring (B), level pawl (C) and adjuster assembly (D).
- Remove the adjusting spring (A).
- Remove the shoe hold assembly (A) and then remove the brake shoe.
- Disconnect the parking cable.
- Disconnect the brake fluid tube flare nut (A).
Tightening torque:
12.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf.m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb-ft)
- Loosen the mounting bolts (A) and then remove the wheel cylinder (B) from the backing plate (C).
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- After installation, bleed the brake system.
