Open or Short Check

  1. Turn the ignition switch "ON" & engine "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the ESP (ESC) connector.
  3. Measure resistance between ground terminal of the ESP (ESC) harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

  4. Is the result within specifications?

    YES 

    • Replace it with a new ESP (ESC) and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, place the new ESP (ESC) and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Repair open or short in ground circuit between battery and ESP (ESC) harness connector and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
    NOTE: * In a case of replacing ESP (ESC), perform following functions
    1. "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction (refer to C126104 ) -ESP (ESC) only
    2. "Longitudinal Sensor Calibration" for Longitudinal sensor offset correction (refer to C128504 ) - ESP (ESC) only
    3. "Variant Coding" for option coding (refer to C170204 )
