Component Inspection

  1. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" mode.
  2. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  3. Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
  4. Turn "OFF" the ignition switch.
  5. Disconnect ECU's connector connected to CAN bus.
  6. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  7. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" mode.
  8. Are any DTCs present?

    YES 

    • Go to step  1 of the component inspection and disconnect another ECU's connector connected to CAN bus in step 5.
    • Repeat above step until test completed on all ECU in CAN bus.
    • If DTC is still present after test above, replace it with a new MDPS and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, place the new MDPS and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault can be caused by other ECUs that are excessively occupying CAN BUS line.
    NOTE:
    • In case of MDPS replacement, conduct the steering angle sensor calibration (refer to C126104 ).
