Open or Short Check

  1. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  2. Press the brake pedal.
  3. Measure voltage between brake light switch signal 'A' terminal of the ESP (ESC) harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Brake light switch 'A': Battery (+) voltage

  4. Is the result within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection (brake pedal is not depressed)" procedure.

    NO 

    • Check for open or blown fuse referring to "Circuit Diagram".
    • Repair open or short in power circuit between battery and ESP (ESC) harness connector and then Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
