Troubleshooting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Monitor the brake pedal travel sensor
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Faulty Brake Pedal Module
  3. Open or short of Brake Pedal Module circuit
  4. Poor calibration of Brake Pedal Travel Sensor
Case 1 Threshold Value
  • When the following conditions are satisfied for more than 300 milliseconds
    • The difference of PDT voltage and PDF voltage transformed to PDT is greater than 400 mV
    • The difference of PDT voltage and PDF voltage transformed to PDT is greater than 20% of PDT voltage
  • When the following conditions are satisfied for more than 300 milliseconds
  • The difference of PDF voltage and PDT voltage transformed to PDF is greater than 200 mV
  • The difference of PDF voltage and PDT voltage transformed to PDF is greater than 20% of PDF voltage

  • IEB/RBS warning lamps are activated
Case 2 Threshold Value
  • Stick error: When calibrated pedal signal is less than 5 mm and has no change (Δpedal<5 mm) under no-control for 200 ms and,
    • All conditions below are satisfied for more than 500 ms during standstill
    • More than 2 conditions are satisfied for more than 1500 ms while driving
    1. PSP pressure is more than 15 bar and changes more than 10 bar
    2. Circuit pressure is more than 15 bar and changes more than 10 bar
    3. BLS (Filtered) signal is "ON"
  • Offset error:
    1. When the pedal signal remains at or exceeds 20 mm for 300 seconds while driving
    2. When more than 3 conditions below are satisfied:
      1. Pedal signal is more than 20 mm for 3 seconds while acceleration pedal is ON
      2. Pedal signal is greater than 20 mm for 1 second while PSP pressure is less than 0.5 bar
      3. Pedal signal is greater than 20 mm while vehicle speed increases by 10 Km/h (6.21 MPH)
      4. Pedal signal is greater than 20 mm for more than 3 seconds while BLS signal is OFF
  • Noise error: All conditions below are satisfied for more than 15 times
    1. The pedal increase/decrease direction is different from the previous cycle
    2. The change of pedal signal is greater than +10 mm or is less than -10 mm reaches 6 times within 100 ms
MIL
  • RBS warning lamps are activated
Reset Condition
  • After turn ignition switch off and back on, put on (1 second) and off (1 second) the brake pedal
