- In case of straight and stable driving, if steering wheel angle is greater than 55 degree
- A failure is detected when the steering angle of the SAS sensor is less than 3 degree at the time of left turn or right turn after running straight forward
- When the difference between estimated angle and measured angle of the SAS sensor is greater than 30 degree for more than 420 milliseconds, after SAS sensor steering angle changes more than 30 deg during one system cycle
