Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

Information 

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the front pillar trim

    (Refer to "FRONT PILLAR TRIM ")

  3. Remove the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")

  4. Remove the crash pad lower panel.

    (Refer to "CRASH PAD LOWER PANEL ")

  5. Remove the cluster fascia panel.

    (Refer to "CENTER FASCIA PANEL ")

  6. Remove the center fascia panel.

    (Refer to "CENTER FASCIA PANEL ")

  7. Remove the AVN head unit.

    (Refer to "AVN HEAD UNIT ")

  8. Remove the glove box upper cover assembly.

    (Refer to "GLOVE BOX UPPER COVER ASSEMBLY ")

  9. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Refer to "STEERING WHEEL ")

  10. Remove the steering column shroud lower panel.

    (Refer to "STEERING COLUMN SHROUD PANEL ")

  11. Remove the multifunction switch assembly.

    (Refer to "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ")

  12. Remove the instrument cluster.

    (Refer to "INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ")

  13. Disconnect the security lamp connector (A).

  14. After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, remove the A/C & heater controller unit (A).

  15. Disconnect the A/C & heater controller connectors (A).

  16. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the crash pad side garnish assembly [LH] (A).

  17. Disconnect the crash pad side garnish connector (A).

  18. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the fuel panel assembly (A).

  19. Disconnect the fuel switch connector (A).

  20. Loosen the mounting bolts (A).

  21. Loosen the mounting bolts and nuts and remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

  22. Disconnect the passenger's airbag connectors (A).

  23. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
