DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Thermostat open stuck monitor (time to reach threshold temperature)
  • Poor connector connection
  • Faulty thermostat
Enable Conditions
  • AAT is greater than -7°C (19.4°F)
  • ECT at start is between -7 and 51.6°C (19.4 and 124.9°F)
  • Difference between IAT at start and IAT (garage effect) is less than 5°C (41°F)
  • Portion of low speed driving time is less than 40 to 55% at 32.2 km/h (20 mph)
  • Portion of idle time is less than 50%
  • When model ECT is greater than 91°C (195.8°F) for 3 to 15minutes depending on driving pattern
Threshold Value
  • Actual ECT is less than 71°C (159.8°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • 0.05s (once per driving cycle)
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
