DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Kia Seltos. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Rich to Lean Response Rate check
  • Leak in intake or exhaust system
  • Faulty fuel system
  • Front and rear HO2S connections reversed.
  • Poor connection or damaged connector
  • HO2S contamination
Enable Conditions
  • Downstream O2 sensor operative readiness
  • Downstream O2 sensor internal resistance is lower than 3kΩ
  • Catalyst temperature model is higher than 400°C (752°F)
  • Mass air flow is between 10 kg/h to 50 kg/h
  • Integrated O2 load at not rich to lean
  • Downstream O2 sensor signal is higher than 0.6V at entry into fuel cut-off
  • Battery voltage is higher than 11V and lower than 16V
Threshold Value
  • Signal gradient from 0.6V to 0.3V at entering fuel cut off out of range (average of signal gradient is lower than 1500 mV/s)
Diagnostic Time
  • 3 valid fuel cut-off phases.
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
