Squib Circuit Inspection

NOTE: If dummy and dummy adaptor are not able to be prepared, use a 2Ω resistor.
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) cable and wait for 5 minutes or more.
  3. Remove the PBPT module and connect the dummy and dummy adapter to the PBPT module connector.
  4. Connect the battery (-) cable and ignition "ON" and wait for 30s or more.
  5. Connect KDS to "Data Link Connector (DLC)" and clear DTC with KDS and diagnose again.
  6. Are any DTCs stored in the system?

Good 

No Good

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least five minutes.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
PBPT connector 1 (high) SRSCM connector 15 (high) Approx. below 1Ω
PBPT connector 2 (low) SRSCM connector 16 (low) Approx. below 1Ω
PBPT connector 1 (high) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω
PBPT connector 2 (low) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω
  1. Connect the SRSCM main connector.
  2. Connect the battery (-) terminal cable to the battery.
  3. Ignition "ON".
