Squib Circuit Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Kia Seltos. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: If dummy and dummy adaptor are not able to be prepared, use a 2Ω resistor.
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) cable and wait for 5 minutes or more.
  3. Remove the DBPT module and connect the dummy and dummy adapter to the DBPT module connector.
  4. Connect the battery (-) cable and ignition "ON" and wait for 30s or more.
  5. Connect KDS to "Data Link Connector (DLC)" and clear DTC with KDS and diagnose again.
  6. Are any DTCs stored in the system?

Good 

No Good

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least five minutes.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
DBPT connector 1 (high) SRSCM connector 2 (high) Approx. below 1Ω
DBPT connector 2 (low) SRSCM connector 3 (low) Approx. below 1Ω
DBPT connector 1 (high) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω
DBPT connector 2 (low) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω
  1. Connect the SRSCM main connector.
  2. Connect the battery (-) terminal cable to the battery.
  3. Ignition "ON".
