Repair Procedures: Replacement

[Hood latch assembly]
- Disconnect the hood latch connector (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the hood latch assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 Kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the hood latch cable (A) and remove the hood latch (B).
- To install, reinstall in reverse order of removal procedure.
Information
- Make sure the hood latch release cable is connected properly.
- Make sure the hood locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.
- Adjust the latch alignment.
- Replace any damaged clips (or retainers or fasteners)
[Hood latch lock control cable]
- Remove the cowl side trim [LH].
(Refer to Interior Trim - "COWL SIDE TRIM ")
- Remove the air duct (A) after loosening the clips.
- Disconnect the hood lock control cable from the hood latch cable (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and then remove the hood lock control cable (A) from the hood latch release handle.
Tightening torque:
6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.0 - 8.0 lb.ft, 60.8 - 95.5 lb.in)
- Remove the hood lock control cable (A) in the direction of the engine room.
- To install, reinstall in reverse order of removal procedure.
Information
- Make sure the hood latch release cable is connected properly.
- Make sure the hood locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.
- Adjust the latch alignment.
- Replace any damaged clips (or retainers or fasteners)
