Brake Caliper Piston

NOTE:
Use a new caliper piston boot and seal whenever installing.
- Place a piece of cloth (A) between the piston and caliper body.
- Slowly inject compressed air (A) into the caliper cylinder and push the piston out.CAUTION: Do not place your fingers in front of the piston when using compressed air.
- Remove the caliper piston (A).NOTE: Be careful not to damage the caliper piston or cylinder.
- Remove the caliper piston boot (A).
- Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the piston seal (A) from the caliper cylinder.NOTE: Be careful not to damage the inner surface or piston seal groove of the cylinder.
- Install the piston seal (A) into the cylinder seal groove (B).NOTE:
- Use a new caliper piston seal whenever installing.
- Apply assembly oil to the piston seal.
- Take care not to get any foreign matter into the cylinder.
- Insert the piston boot (A) in the direction of the arrow and position the boot at the end of piston.NOTE:
- Use a new caliper piston boot whenever installing.
- Apply assembly oil to the piston surface.
- Be careful not to change the direction of the boot.
- Be careful not to damage the boot.
- Install the piston boot (A) into the cylinder boot groove (B).NOTE: Take care not to get any foreign matter inside cylinder.
- Insert the caliper piston into the cylinder.NOTE:
- Be careful not to tilt the piston when inserting the piston.
- Do not apply excessive force when inserting the piston.
- Insert the piston slowly to prevent damage the inside of the cylinder.
- Make sure that the caliper piston boot (A) is correctly installed.
- Install the brake caliper assembly.
- After installation, bleed the brake system.

- Check and clean any spilled brake fluid.
