Removal And Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
  2. Remove the driver airbag module.

    (Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE ")

  3. Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
  4. Disconnect the steering wheel connector (A).

  5. Loosen the bolt (A) and then remove the steering wheel.

    Tightening torque: 

    44.1 - 49.0 N.m (4.5 - 5.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 36.2 lb.ft)

    NOTE:
    • When removing the steering wheel, do not impact it by hammering as it may damage the steering column.
    • Do not reuse the steering bolt.
    • When assembling, match the gear teeth as shown in illustration.

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
