Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

Information 

  1. Remove the rear door window glass.

    (Refer to Rear Door - "REAR DOOR WINDOW GLASS ")

  2. Remove the rear door outside handle.

    (Refer to Rear Door - "REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ")

  3. Loosen the rear outside handle base mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    2.0 - 2.9 N.m (0.2 - 0.3 kgf-m, 1.4 - 2.2 lb.ft, 17.4 - 26.0 lb.in)

  4. Loosen the rear door latch mounting screws (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf-m, 5.0 - 8.0 lb.ft, 60.8 - 95.5 lb.in)

  5. Disconnect the rear door main connector (A).

  6. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the rear door module (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)

  7. Disconnect the connectors and rear door module wiring harness (A).

  8. Remove the rear door latch assembly.

    (Refer to Rear Door - "REAR DOOR LATCH ")

  9. Remove the rear door speaker

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "SPEAKER ")

  10. Remove the rear power window motor.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "POWER WINDOW MOTOR ")

  11. To install, reinstall in reverse order of removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Make sure connectors are connected properly and each rod is connected securely.
    • Make sure the door locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.
