Check Short To Battery In CAN Communication Line

  1. Ignition OFF
  2. Connect all related module connectors.
  3. Ignition ON
  4. Measure voltage between C-CAN high terminal of BCM (TPMS Module Integrated) harness connector and chassis ground.
  5. Measure voltage between C-CAN low terminal of BCM (TPMS Module Integrated) harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  below 5V

Check Open in CAN Communication Line

  1. IG KEY OFF.
  2. Disconnect BCM (TPMS ECU Integrated) connector and ESC (ESP) connector.
  3. Measure the resistance between C-CAN-HIGH terminal of BCM (TPMS ECU Integrated) harness connector and C-CAN-HIGH terminal of ESC (ESP) harness connector.
  4. Measure the resistance between C-CAN-LOW terminal of BCM (TPMS ECU Integrated) harness connector and C-CAN-LOW terminal of ESC (ESP) harness connector.

    Specification:  below 1Ω

    2. Connect all related module connectors.
    BCM's (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "HIGH" terminal chassis ground.

    Check Open in CAN communication line. (Ω) below 1 Ω
    1. Ignition switch: OFF
    2. BCM (TPMS Module integrated) connector: Disconnected
    3. ABS/ESC (ESP) connector: Disconnected
    BCM's (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "HIGH" terminal ABS/ESC (ESP)'s CAN-"HIGH" terminal
    BCM's (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "LOW" terminal ABS/ESC (ESP)'s CAN-"LOW" terminal
  5. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Check ECM, BCM (TPMS Module Integrated) connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
