Check Open In CAN Communication Line

  1. IG KEY OFF.
  2. Disconnect BCM (TPMS Module Integrated) connector and ABS/ESC (ESP) connector.
  3. Measure the resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of BCM (TPMS ECU Integrated) harness connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of ABS/ESC (ESP) harness connector.
  4. Measure the resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of BCM (TPMS ECU Integrated) harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of ABS/ESC (ESP) harness connector.

    Specification:  below 1Ω

    Check short to ground in CAN communication line (Ω) infinity Ω
    1. Ignition switch: OFF
    2. Connect all related module connectors.
    BCM's (TPMS Module Integrated) CAN "HIGH" terminal chassis ground.
    BCM's (TPMS Module Integrated) CAN "LOW" terminal
    Check Open in CAN communication line. (Ω) below 1 Ω
    1. Ignition switch: OFF
    2. BCM (TPMS Module Integrated) connector: Disconnected
    3. ABS/ESC (ESP) connector: Disconnected
    BCM's (TPMS Module Integrated) CAN "HIGH" terminal ABS/ESC (ESP)'s CAN-"HIGH" terminal
    BCM's (TPMS Module Integrated) CAN "LOW" terminal ABS/ESC (ESP)'s CAN-"LOW" terminal
  5. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Check ECM, BCM (TPMS Module Integrated) connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
