Check Open In CAN Communication Line

  1. IG KEY OFF.
  2. Disconnect BCM (TPMS Module integrated) connector and ABS/ESC (ESP) connector.
  3. Measure the resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of BCM (TPMS Module integrated) harness connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of ABS/ESC (ESP) harness connector.
  4. Measure the resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of BCM (TPMS Module integrated) harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of ESP (ESC) harness connector.
  5. Disconnect BCM (TPMS Module integrated) connector and ECM connector.
  6. Measure the resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of BCM (TPMS Module integrated) harness connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of ECM harness connector.
  7. Measure the resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of BCM (TPMS Module integrated) harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of ECM harness connector.

    1. Ignition switch: OFF
    2. Connect all related module connectors.
    BCM's (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "HIGH" terminal chassis ground.
    BCM's (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "LOW" terminal
    Check Open in CAN communication line. (Ω) below 1 Ω
    1. Ignition switch: OFF
    2. BCM (TPMS Module integrated) connector: Disconnected
    3. ABS/ESC (ESP) connector: Disconnected
    BCM"s (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "HIGH" terminal ABS/ESC (ESP)"s CAN-"HIGH" terminal
    BCM"s (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "LOW" terminal ABS/ESC (ESP)"s CAN-"LOW" terminal
    1. Ignition switch: OFF
    2. BCM (TPMS Module integrated) connector: Disconnected
    3. ECM connector: Disconnected
    BCM"s (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "HIGH" terminal ECM's CAN-"HIGH" terminal
    BCM"s (TPMS Module integrated) CAN "LOW" terminal ECM's CAN-"LOW" terminal

    Specification:  below 1Ω

  8. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Check ESC, TPMS Module connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO
