Component Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Hyundai Kona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON & Engine OFF. Using a GDS, clear the DTC.
  2. Turn the ignition switch back OFF.
  3. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 1 minute.
  4. Disconnect the ALR (Automatic Locking Retractor) connector.
  5. Replace the "Seatbelt Retractor Assembly" with an usable one and check for proper operation.
  6. Did the same DTC return?

    YES 

    • Replace the PODS-G ECU with an usable one and check for proper operation. If it works properly, put the new component in place. Then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".

    NO 

    • Replace the Seatbelt Retractor Assembly with an usable one and check for proper operation. If it works properly, put the new component in place. Then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
