Monitor DTC Status

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Hyundai Kona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and connect a GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON & Engine OFF. Then, select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" mode.
  3. See if there is any present DTC.
  4. Using the GDS, clear the DTC.
  5. Is the DTC present?

    "PRESENT"

    • Go to next procedure.

    "HISTORY"

    • If there is no DTC or it is a history DTC, the fault can be intermittent, caused by poor contact of the connectors or components of the PODS-G ECU. Or, the control module's memory was not cleared after repair.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor contact, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

    • Repair or replace relevant component as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
