- After replacing the FCA module, perform "Variant Coding" and "Radar Sensor Alignment" at the "Vehicle S/W Management" mode by using GDS.
- How to align a driving mode -
- Place the vehicle on the level ground or a lift.
- Remove the bumper and install the radar.
- Set the tilt meter perpendicular to the front cover of the radar.
(When a tilt meter is not available, use a Bubble meter and locate it at the center.)
- Assemble the bumper.
- Drive or activate the auto sensor alignment.
- Vertical Sensor Alignment does not support an auto mode. It must be conducted manually with a tool.
- Actuate the driving mode with the Scantool and drive the vehicle.
- Sensor Alignment usually takes around 5~10 minutes, but it can vary by driving or road condition. To shorten the time required for the Alignment, drive the vehicle while considering the followings.
- Continued driving faster than about 48.6km/h
- Driving on a straight, even lane without any curve or hill
- Driving on a thick, wide asphalt-paved road
- Driving on a road with periodical obstacles (street light, guardrail, etc.)
- It would inhibit or delay sensor Alignment temporarily
- Driving along sharp curves within 100m in front of the vehicle
- Immediate acceleration or deceleration at over 2m/s2
- Slow driving under 10km/h or being at a standstill (at the light)
- Driving in a tunnel or underneath a highway
- Excessive steering for a left/right turn or for lane change
