DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Item  Detecting Condition  Possible Cause 
Case 1 Main Action
  • During engine running, check accuracy of time measurement by engine off timer μ-com.
  1. Poor connection or harness damage
  2. Unstable Power
  3. Faulty PCM
Prerequisite Condition
  • Engine is running with speed over 32 RPM.
  • Elapsed time after starting engine is longer than 10 seconds.
  • Battery voltage is between 10V and 16V.
Threshold Value
  • Compare Engine-off timer time measurement with Engine running timer: Deviation ratio is bigger than 10%.
Diagnostic Time
  • 100 Seconds
Case 2 Main Action
  • Check that engine off-timer is incriminating while engine is stopped.
Prerequisite Condition
  • Ignition switch is turned ON to OFF.
  • Battery voltage is between 10V and 16V.
Threshold Value
  • Compare Engine-off timer time measurement with ignition switch turned OFF: Deviation is longer than 2 seconds.
Diagnostic Time
  • 4 Seconds
MIL-On Condition
  • 3rd Driving Cycle
