Monitor DTC Status

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connect.
  2. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)," and click "DTC Status" to check DTC information.
  4. Confirm that "DTC Readiness Flag" indicates "COMPLETED". If not, drive the vehicle with conditions noted in the freeze frame data or enable conditions.
  5. Read "DTC Status" parameter.
  6. Record all DTCs, DTC state and freeze frame data before clearing them. Is the DTC State "Present?"
    NOTE:
    • History (Not Present) state: the DTC set but has been cleared.
    • Present state: the DTC is active at present.

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO 

    • This can be an intermittent fault caused by poor contact of the sensor's and/or PCM connector. Or, PCM memory was not cleared after repair. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace the relevant component (s) as necessary, and go to "".
