  • Monitoring deviation between targeted idle speed and actual engine speed during catalyst heating
  1. Leakage in intake system

Prerequisite Condition
  • Engine coolant temperature during starting engine is between -10° (14°F) and 33° (91.4°F)
  • Elapsed time after starting engine is longer than 9 seconds.
  • Vehicle speed is slower than 1.9 mile/h (3 km/h).
  • Accelerator pedal opening is lower than 0.01%.
Threshold Value
  • Current RPM is slower than target as much as 270 RPM (too low engine speed) or Current RPM is faster than target as much as 500 RPM (too high engine speed)
Diagnostic Time
  • 4 Seconds
MIL-On Condition
  • 3rd Driving Cycle
