DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Case 1 Main Action
  • Check for missing signal
  1. Open or short circuit in signal, ground or power
  2. Poor connection or harness damage
  3. Misadjusted crankshaft and camshaft pulley position
  4. Faulty CMPS #2 (exhaust)
Prerequisite Condition
  • First long tooth of CRK passed without failure for DTC P0017-00 and P036600.
Threshold Value
  • No camshaft edge detected within one revolution.
  • # of revolutions without camshaft edge is bigger than 5.
Diagnosis Time
  • 5 Revolutions
Case 2 Main Action
  • Check camshaft edge for out of range
Prerequisite Condition
  • First long tooth of CRK passed or first camshaft edge passed
Threshold Value
  • # of revolutions with Camshaft edge is over 6 before synchronization.
Diagnosis Time
  • 6 Revolutions
MIL-On Condition
  • 2nd Driving Cycle
