  • Calculation of engine roughness
  1. Faulty spark plugs or Ignition coil
  2. Incorrect valve timing
  3. Uneven compression
  4. Air leakage
  5. Improper Fuel pressure or dirty fuel.
  6. Blocked/Leaking injectors
  7. Leakage between cooling system and cylinder
Prerequisite Condition
  • Engine load ratio is between 10% and 85%.
  • Engine speed (RPM) is between 470 and 6700 RPM.
  • Ambient pressure (model) is greater than 75kPa.
  • The gradient of engine load ratio is between 12%/s and 60%/s.
  • Engine coolant temperature is higher than 20° (68°F).
  • Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V.
  • Fuel cut-off is not functioning.
  • Mean value of wheel speed signal gradient is higher than 13% through 25%.

  • Misfire ratio is between 10% and 50%.
Case 2
  • Misfire ratio is 2.0%.
