Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Evaluate O2 sensor heater performance.
  1. Related fuse blown or missing
  2. Heater control circuit open or short
  3. Power supply circuit open or short
  4. Poor connection or harness damage
  5. Faulty HO2S
Prerequisite Condition
  • The normal heating time of Upstream HO2 sensor is longer than 5 seconds.
  • Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V.
Threshold Value
  • Upstream HO2 sensor tip temperature is lower than 755° (1391°F).
Diagnostic Time
  • 20 Seconds
MIL-On Condition
  • 3rd Driving Cycle
