  • Voltage check
  1. Short to battery in signal harness
  2. Open in signal or ground circuit
  3. Poor connection or damaged harness
  4. Faulty ECT sensor
Prerequisite Condition
  • Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V.
  • Intake air temperature (IAT) is higher than or equal to -30° (-22°F).
Threshold Value
  • ECT Sensor voltage is higher than 4.93V.
  • Sensor signal circuit is open or shorted to battery power supply.
Diagnostic Time
  • Continuously
