Detecting Condition |
Possible Cause |
| Main Action |
Case 1 |
- Deviation check between actual CAM position and CAM set-point position while set point changes (slow response of intake VVT)
|
- Oil leakage
- Oil contamination
- Oil Control Valve
- Oil Control Valve filter contamination
- CVVT Assembly (Intake)
|
| Case 2 |
- Deviation check between actual CAM position and CAM set-point position (steady deviation of intake VVT)
|
| Prerequisite condition |
Case 1 |
- Elapsed time after starting engine is longer than 1.5 to 2 seconds.
- Camshaft set-point within 0.8 seconds is moved over 12.3°RK.
- Camshaft set-point since starting engine is moved 0 times at least.
- Engine speed is between minimum 576 to 1504 RPM and maximum 4992 RPM.
- Engine oil temperature is between 20° (68°F) and 120° (248°F).
- Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V.
|
| Case 2 |
- Elapsed time after starting engine is longer than 1.5 to 2 seconds.
- Camshaft set-point since engine starts is moved 0 times at least.
- Absolute value of difference between CAM set-point and actual position.
- Engine speed is between minimum 576 to 1504 RPM and maximum 4992 RPM.
- Engine oil temperature is between 20° (68°F) and 120° (248°F).
- Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V.
|
| Threshold Value |
Case 1 |
- CAM position movement within 0.8 seconds is less than 3.4°RK.
|
| Case 2 |
- The integral of absolute value of difference between set-point and actual position of CAM is greater than 45°RK/s
