Component Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Hyundai Kona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF". Connect a GDS and oscilloscope.
  2. Connect CH A, B probe to (+), (-) control terminal of EWGA connector.
  3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  4. Measure signal waveform of EWGA control together by actuating the throttle.

    Specification:  Signal waveform will be displayed as follows.

  5. Is the measured resistance within specification?

    YES 

    • Replace the ECM with an usable one and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the ECM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".

    NO 

    • Replace the E-WGA with an usable one and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the E-WGA and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
