Trouble shooting Condition Possible Cause
Main action
  • Monitor steering angle sensor signal
  1. Incorrect installation
  2. Incorrect calibration of steering angle sensor
  3. Faulty steering angle sensor
Threshold value
  • A failure is detected when the steering wheel angle sensor sends the status Defective for more than 100 milliseconds.
  • A failure is detected when the steering wheel angle sensor signal is implausible.
  • A failure is detected when measured output signal of steering wheel angle sensor is out of range for more than 10 milliseconds.
  • A failure is detected when calculated steering wheel angle offset is out of the specified range.
Diagnosis time

MIL
  • ESP (ESC) operation cancelled/inhibited.

    EBD/ABS/DBC operation allowed.

  • ESP (ESC) warning lamps ON
