DTC Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Hyundai Kona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

C1290-22 sets when the EPS ECU (MDPS = Motor Driving Power Steering Control Module) detects an open/short in the torque sensor wire harness or when signals from 2 sensors do not match. The DTC can also appear when the torque sensor cannot properly calculate the torque and steering angle speed.
