DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Kia Seltos. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Monitor G sensor or YRS signal error
  • Poor connector connection
  • Faulty SRSCM
  • Open or short circuit
Enable Condition
  • Normal battery voltage (9 to 16V)
Threshold Value Case1
  • In case of stable driving, monitoring a suspicious mode if it is more than 3m/s2 to the difference between measured lateral G sensor values and lateral G values estimated. If suspicious mode is held on, a fault is set
  • In case of standstill, monitoring a fault if it is more than 7.0m/s2 to the difference between previous lateral G offset and the mean of lateral G offset estimated
  • In case of straight and stable driving over 30 KPH (18.7 MPH), monitoring a fault if it is more than 2.5m/s2 to the difference between previous lateral G offset and mean of lateral G offset estimated
Case2
  • When lateral G sensor variation is greater than 15m/s2 for more than 1s
  • When lateral G sensor variation is greater than 11m/s2 for more than 0.12s
Case3
  • Monitoring a suspicious mode if it is more than 6 degree/s to the difference between measured yaw sensor values and yaw values estimated. If suspicious mode is held on, a fault is set
  • In case of standstill, monitoring a fault if it is more than 6 degree/s to the difference between previous yaw offset and the mean of yaw offset estimated
  • In case of straight and stable driving over 30 KPH (18.7 MPH), monitoring a fault if it is more than 6 degree/s to the difference between previous yaw offset and mean of yaw offset estimated
  • If the direction of yaw rate estimated and measured during driving more than 60 KPH (37.3 MPH) does not match the driving state
Case4
  • YRS values is greater than 30 degree/s for more than 5s
  • While driving, if yaw sensor values is greater than 95degree/s for more than 1s
Case5
  • When longitudinal G sensor variation is greater than 15m/s2 for more than 1s
  • When longitudinal G sensor off-set value is greater than 12m/s2 for more than 0.8s
  • Monitoring a fault if it is more than 4.5m/s2 to the difference between measured longitudinal G sensor value and the longitudinal G sensor estimated for more than 2s
Warning Lamp
  • ESC
Disable Condition Case1
  • When the followings are normal, on a driving above 12 KPH (7.45 MPH)
    • In case of straight driving, lateral G sensor signal is within ±2.5m/s2
    • G sensor value for right turn is lower than -1m/s2. G sensor value for left turn is greater than +1m/s2
    • When lateral G is greater than ±0.5m/s, monitoring a fault if the estimated lateral G value is in between lower limit 50% and upper limit 200%
Case2
  • After the ignition switch turns off and then on, when the sensor signal is normal after driving more than 12 KPH (7.45 MPH)
Case3
  • When the followings are normal, on a driving above 12 KPH (7.45 MPH)
    • In case of straight driving, yaw values is within 3degree/s
    • Yaw value for right turn is lower than -2degree/s yaw value for left turn is greater than +2degree/s
    • When yaw value is greater than ±2degree/s, monitoring a fault if the estimated yaw value is in between lower limit 50% and upper limit 150%
Case4
  • After the ignition switch turns off and then on again, driving the vehicle over 12 km/h (7.45 MPH) and yaw sensor signal is in normal condition
Case5
  • When the normal state is confirmed after the ignition switch turns off and then on
