DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Kia Seltos. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Signal monitoring
  • Poor connector connection
  • Large air gap
  • Faulty signal circuit of WSS RR
  • Faulty WSS RR
Enable Condition
  • Ignition "ON"
Threshold Value Case1
  • When the vehicle speed is greater than 12 KPH (7.4 MPH), if an arbitrary wheel speed is sensed under 1.6 KPH (1.0 MPH) for more than 1s
  • A failure is detected when the vehicle speed is greater than 18 KPH (11.1 MPH), if front left wheel speed is sensed under 1.6 KPH (1.0 MPH)
Case2
  • If the wheel speed difference is greater than the threshold value on one of the wheels
    1. FL/RL, FR/RR: 6 to 12 KPH (3.7 to 7.4 MPH)

      FL/FR: 10 to 16 KPH (6.2 to 12.4 MPH), fault detection time is 20s

    2. FL/RL, FR/RR: Higher than 12 KPH (7.4 MPH)

FL/FR: Higher than 16 KPH (12.4 MPH), fault detection time is 10s

    3. When spin occurs on front wheel, fault detection time is maximum 80s
Case3
  • Stand still pulse is not received for more than 2.5s
  • Invalid pulse is received for more than 0.25s
Warning Lamp Only one wheel failure
  • ABS, ESC
Two or more wheels failure
  • EBD, ABS, ESC, EPB
Disable Condition
  • When all wheel speed is normal after driving more than 12 kph (7.45 mph) after the ignition switch turns off and then on
