Fuel Tank Cap Inspection

Check that a different kind of fuel tank cap is not installed
Check the contact surface between filler neck and fuel tank cap is O.K
- Fuel Filler Neck: Check the surface of Filler Neck where Fuel tank cap seal contacts (Fig 1)
- Fuel tank cap:
  1. Check that seal on the cap is undamaged (Fig 2)
  2. Check operation of the pressure valve and vacuum valve in the fuel cap
NOTE: Never inhale the air from the Vent Valve during the Vent Valve inspection

YES
- Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
