Item Detecting Condition Possible cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Missing signal check
  1. Open or short in signal, ground or power supply circuit
  2. Poor connection or damaged harness
  3. Misadjusted crankshaft and camshaft pulley position
  4. Faulty CMPS #2 (exhaust)
Enable Conditions
  • Engine synchronized
Threshold value
  • No camshaft edge detected within one revolution
Diagnosis Time
  • 8 rev.
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Noisy signal check
Enable Conditions
  • Engine synchronized
Threshold value
  • Camshaft edge out of range is more than 6
Diagnosis Time
  • 6 rev.
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
