System Inspection

Check Fuel Filler Cap
1. Check the Fuel Filler Cap is installed and properly tightened.
2. Check if the Fuel Filler Cap seal is missing or damaged.
3. Is the Fuel Filler Cap OK?
  YES
  - Go to "Test Condition for PCSV Close Stuck" procedure below.
  NO
  - Replace the Fuel Filler Cap and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Test Condition for PCSV Close Stuck
1. Confirm that the installation arrow mark on PCSV goes towards engine
2. Disconnect hose at the PCSV coming from the fuel tank
3. Connect GDS and select "PCSV" parameter on current data
4. Engine "ON"
5. Check for vacuum or no vacuum through the port at the PCSV in accordance with PCSV operating condition
  - Check the amount of vacuum, by hand, through the PCSV when PCSV is ON (Open)"

6. is the vacuum condition at the port normal?
  YES
  - Go to "Test Condition for checking clogging of Vapor line" procedure below.
  NO
  - Substitute with a known-good PCSV and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCSV and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Test Condition for checking clogging of Vapor line
1. Remove service hall cover for Canister underneath rear seat or trunk luggage floor (Fig1)
2. Remove Vapor line coupler
3. Connect GDS and select "PCSV" parameter on current data
4. Engine "ON"
5. Check for vacuum or no vacuum through the coupler of vapor line in accordance with PCSV operating condition
  - Check the amount of vacuum, by hand, through the PCSV when PCSV is ON (Open)

6. is the vacuum condition at the port normal?
  YES
  - Generation of vacuum and no vacuum is smooth in accordance with PCSV operation Full amount of vacuum flow during PCSV Open
  - Perform troubleshooting procedure with referring to P0442
  NO
  - Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
