Signal Circuit Inspection

■ Check Open in signal circuit

IG "OFF".
Disconnect CKPS connector.
IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".
Measure the voltage between signal A, signal B terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx 2.5 V
Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Go to "Check Short in signal circuit" procedure below.
NO
- Go to "Check Short to ground in signal circuit" procedure below.

■ Check Short to ground in signal circuit

IG "OFF".
Disconnect Knock sensor connector and ECM connector.
Measure the resistance between signal A, signal B terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Infinite
Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Repair Open in signal circuit and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Repair Short to ground in signal circuit and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check Short in signal circuit

IG "OFF".
Disconnect Knock sensor connector and ECM connector.
Measure the resistance between signal A, signal B terminal of CKPS harness connector.
Specification: Infinite
Is the measured resistance within specifications?
YES
- Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair Short in signal circuit and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
