Component Inspection

■ Visual Inspection 

1. Check following components at high pressure fuel line visually.
   • Connector connection state.
   • Damage/connection state for vacuum hoses connected to fuel line.
   • Bent/pressed/twisted fuel line or fuel leakage
2. Has a problem found in this procedure?

   YES 

   • Go to "Fuel Pressure Sensor Inspection" as follows.

   NO 

   • Repair or replace it which has a problem, and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Fuel Pressure Sensor Inspection 

1. Connect GDS to DLC (Data Link Cable).
2. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
3. Monitor "Fuel Pressure" parameter on the "Current Data" with GDS.

   Specification:  The fuel rail pressure will be increased while accelerating the vehicle.

   (Inspect low pressure fuel line between fuel pump and high pressure pump first when the pressure of low pressure line is displayed low at idle.)

4. Is the "FPS" parameter displayed correctly?

   YES 

   • Check for poor connection between PCM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure

   NO 

   • Substitute with a known - good fuel pressure sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace fuel pressure sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
