Signal Circuit Inspection

■ Check short to battery in signal harness 

1. IG "OFF". Disconnect ECTS connector and PCM connector.
2. IG "ON" & ENG "OFF"
3. Measure the voltage between signal terminal of the sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Approx. 5 V

4. Is voltage within the specification?

   YES 

   • Go to next step below.

   NO 

   • Check for short to battery or open in signal harness. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check open in harness 

1. IG "OFF". Disconnect ECTS connector and PCM connector.
2. Measure the resistance between signal terminal of ECTS harness connector and signal connector of PCM harness connector.

   Specification:  Approx. 0 Ω

3. Is the resistance within the specification?

   YES 

   • Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure below.

   NO 

   • Check for open in signal harness. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
